Thomas Sandkamp is a seasoned financial advisor with more than 25 years of experience helping individuals and businesses build, manage, and protect their financial futures. As an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), he is committed to acting in his clients' best interests while helping them define their goals and understand investment risk.
Thomas specializes in working with business owners preparing for successful exits, as well as retirees and pre-retirees seeking to preserve and grow their wealth. He primarily serves clients with $250,000 or more in investable assets, providing tailored strategies designed to align with their long-term financial objectives.
He remains dedicated to professional growth, regularly attending industry training and certification programs nationwide. Thomas utilizes advanced planning tools such as WealthVision and Riskalyze to develop customized financial strategies and deliver clear, data-driven portfolio analysis.
His path into financial services was shaped by both professional opportunity and personal experience. After serving in the United States Army from 1987 to 1990 as a UH-60 Black Hawk crew chief, mechanic, and door gunner with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, he pursued higher education at the University of Kentucky and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
Thomas entered the financial industry after working with a team that conducted retirement planning seminars for Lockheed employees relocating from California to Georgia. At the same time, his family experienced financial hardship when his father lost his job following the bankruptcy of Van de Kamp's Bakery. Witnessing the consequences of inadequate planning—and identifying a critical gap in his father's pension election that could have left his mother financially vulnerable—solidified his commitment to helping everyday families pursue long-term financial security.
Maintaining a strong sense of community and service remains central to Thomas's life. He has been a member of the Claremont Masonic Lodge since 1999, actively supports veteran-related causes, and is a member of the CHP 11-99 Foundation. He also participates in charitable efforts benefiting first responders and their families and is involved in Siberian Husky rescue and fostering.
Thomas shares his life with his partner, Shanna, who has been in the field of education for over 20 years. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys travel, golf, pickleball and shooting sports, and staying active, along with spending quality time with family and close friends.
